Back From Bali
Visiting Bali was a dream come true. A bucket list item that has now been done. Bali was the most spiritual place I've ever visited and I have visited India. I thought India would be the most spiritual place. It had beautiful temples, the Taj Mahal, so many saints and gurus from India yet it did not have that feeling on a day to day basis. In Bali, every morning the people of Bali go outside their home and sweep the front sidewalk of their home and business. Then they do a blessing consisting of flowers, money, rice, etc and prayers for protection, abundance and success for families and their business. The people of Bali are the happiest people I have ever met. As a woman I felt safe walking down the beach alone. The streets are a little crazy with scooters everywhere but not one person is rushed or impatient. With very few stop signs you would think it would be chaos but yet it is a flow. I was so blessed to spend over a week in Ubud. Most of that time spent at Soulshine attending a yoga retreat. My first yoga retreat and I was not teaching yoga. I used my sick leave check when I retried to purchase this retreat for myself over a year ago. The Nicole Anne Yoga retreat was awesome. We visited lots of waterfall temples, a temple on the water, had yoga every morning and every evening, fresh juices each morning with breakfast and we also visited the Pyramids of Chi mutliple times for soundbaths and once for a scalar healing session. Both were wonderful. On my day off a group of us visited a temple and monk. We each received personal one on one blessings from the monk. I can still feel the symbols he drew on my hands that day. That day was the best day of the trip. The people I met at the retreat will forever stay in my heart. Many from Arizona and one from Washington state, my beautiful roommate. After the retreat in Bali we went to Amed and stayed in a beautiful beach house. The beach house was perfect. It was walking distance to all kinds of restaurants, including our favorite Salt. Salt had delicious food and the most friendly people. We even found a place to do yoga at a scuba diving center on the beach. We had plenty of Balinese massages that week and enjoyed going snorkeling on the boat. We went to three locations on the boat that day. We were able to see a beautiful coral reef, sea turtles and a underwater ancient temple. After a week of beach life it was time to come home. We all would love to live in Bali but that is not going to happen right now so back to reality we flew.
